This section is created to answer some of the most commonly asked questions. If you have a question that has not been answered here, please contact us with your question.

Q. - Is my event date available?
  A. - Please refer to our Availability Calendar to see if your date is still available.
There are only so many cakes we can do each week. Once we reach that number
then we can accept no more cake orders.

Q. - How much are your cakes?
  A. - Because we price our cakes by the serving there are many different factors that determine the final price. Please view our "All about our cakes" section.

Q. - How do I order a cake?
  A. - Since we are a custom cake shop we are by appointment only. We offer one FREE consultation on Wedding cake orders of 100 servings or more. All other cake orders must be placed via telephone. Please view our "All about our cakes" section for detailed ordering information.

Q. - What is your payment policy?
  A. - CAKE ORDERS: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your cake order; the remainder is due the day you pick up your order. (Wedding cakes must be paid in FULL 30 days prior to the wedding date.) Your order is not confirmed until we have received your non-refundable deposit and a response from the e-mail confirmation we will send you.

Payments can be made in cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, & Discover).

If you cancel your cake order your deposit is not refundable. Your deposit was used to reserve your date and we have turned many other customers away.

Q. - Do you offer discounts?
  A. - Cake Discounts - From time to time we have special offers or ads running that will offer a discount on our cakes.

A. - Internet Product Discounts - Due to the very small profit margin on the products we sell online we can only offer wholesale discounts on orders totaling $1,500.00 or more. Please contact us by phone to make arrangements before placing a wholesale order.

Q. - Do you deliver?
  A. - Cakes - Delivery is available for wedding cakes of 100 servings or more and cakes that require on-site assembly.
We DO NOT SHIP cakes.
Delivery fees are calculated by distance traveled from Cabot, AR to your location.
Our minimum delivery fee is $35.00.
Birthday cakes and other custom cakes are generally not a problem for the customer to pickup and transport. Cakes by Sam, Inc. is not responsible for any damage to a cake transported by the customer once it leaves our property.

A. - Internet Product Orders - Cakes by Sam, Inc. ships our cake decorating products all over the world. Our standard method of shipping is UPS. Please see our Shipping Information page for delivery times to your state. For fastest delivery please place your order online Monday - Thursday before 3:00 p.m. CST. Fridays before 11:00 a.m. CST. Orders placed online before these cutoff times will ship out SAME DAY!

Please add three (3) days processing for phone orders.

Q. - Are you hiring?
  A. - We are not currently hiring any staff, interns, externs, unpaid grunts, or volunteers. Cakes by Sam, Inc. requires every hired employee to sign a non-compete clause that is binding for seven (7) years after employment ends.

Q. - Can I come watch you work?
  A. - We are a small very busy shop. Every cake is handcrafted with lots of love, care and detail. Due to our demanding work schedule and deadlines we do not have a lot of time for visitors or small talk. We do not have the time or resources for visitors. Please do not feel unloved or offended if you try to stop by and we do not let you in to visit. By APPOINTMENT ONLY means exactly that. We still love you!

Q. - I have a question about decorating / my school project / starting a bakery/decorating classes/ my life's purpose.
  A. - We really wish we had the time to answer every question that is asked of us in great personal detail. However, due to the work load and CRAZY number of
e-mails we get each day, that is simply not possible and we can not answer questions about these topics.

If you have a cake decorating technique question please check out the books "Cakewalk" by Margaret Braun, and "Cakes to Dream On" by Colette Peters.

Q. - I have dietary restrictions. Can you bake a cake for me?
  A. - Since the majority of our cakes are regular sugar packed art creations we are not set up for baking "Sugar Free" or "Gluten Free" cakes.

Cakes by Sam, Inc. is not a certified Kosher establishment and is unable to produce parve cakes.

Q. - Do you ship cakes?
  A. - Sorry, though we get tons of requests to ship cakes to other states, it is just not possible. Please see our Decorator Network to locate a Decorator near you.

Q. - Do you have a printed catalog of your products you can send me?
  A. - The last price quote we received to produce a printed catalog was $15,000.00 so we decided to keep our prices lower by not offering a printed catalog. Every product we carry is able to be viewed in great detail on our website for FREE! Just click on "Online Shopping" link above to view our product line.

Q. - When placing an order online is my personal information secure?
  A. - Yes!  You are guaranteed the highest levels of encryption possible. All order information is encrypted and protected for access only by Cakes by Sam, Inc.. When you are on our order form you will see the yellow lock (shown on the right) at the bottom of your page, this tells you that your information is sent through a secure server and is being encrypted.

Q. - What is your privacy policy? Will you sell my information?
  A. - Cakes by Sam, Inc. will not, now or in the future, sell, give away, or otherwise release to any third party any personal information you provide to us via this web site. We feel that your sense of security and privacy is of paramount importance, and we will do all we can to ensure that we do not breach that sense of trust.

We do, however, monitor the site traffic and analyze which pages are popular, which are not, what areas of the country or the world our traffic is coming from, and the like. Your movements within the site therefore are part of this analysis, but at no point in this analysis does your actual identity become known.

Your personal information remains on our secure server, accessible only to our employees for the purposes of fulfilling your order requests and customer service.

Q. - Do you ship to countries outside the United States?
  A. - We do accept International orders from select countries. Extra shipping charges will be applied to all orders shipped outside of the United States of America. We reserve the right to refuse any order for any reason. Cakes by Sam, Inc. is not responsible for any extra incurred delivery or customs fees that may be charged by your country in addition to what you were charged for shipping charges at the time your order was placed.  See our Shipping Policy for more information before placing your order.
